The Daily Breadcrumb

”The Bible is meant to be bread for daily use, not cake for special occasions.”

Social Media

“Imagine if we spend as much time with Jesus as we do getting on Social Media.”

——-Dennis Schleicher, “So I stopped refreshing social media… and started refreshing my faith. Because God doesn’t need Wi-Fi to reach your heart.”

Social Media is something that pulls you in our entire world, had the power of the internet at the tips of their finger tips daily, always in our hands, always in our back pocket. Heck I am sitting in an airport terminal writing this. Social Media and pull us under and fill out lungs before we have a second change to think it.

—I will be the first to say that I used to spend so much time just mindlessly scrolling through memes, TikTok, facebook. But I have been working on cutting things out, Not having Communication Social Media like twitter, facebook, instagram, has given me the time to enjoy my life. I don’t worry about what others are gossiping about online, what someone thinks of my outfit, or sharing the places I visit in images I share to gain likes.

“Approximately 10% of Americans, or over 33 Million people, are estimated to have an addiction to social media, often driven by the search of instant gratification.”

—The thing is I don’t think that instant gratification is every going to sooth the soul its just a fast high, and quickly onto the next fix. Always spending their time about the perfect photo to post. Or the perfect thing to say, or even the worst thing to say hiding behind a screen.

—Social Media is a drug and everyone is trying to score their next fix.

—Now, lets be honest its a digital age, I can’t say myself that I have cut out everything but I have limited what I do have left. I love me a good TikTok scroll, but it locks me out after 2 hours of use. I still scroll through Pinterest, but I also have come to the point in my life where I don’t quite care for people taking a backseat ride to my life. If you want to be apart of my life make the effort too. I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to keep watering the fake plants. Because they aren’t going to grow no matter how much I poured into them.

—Each day as I grow I am working on bettering myself, because each day that God blessed me with another, I am going to keep working on myself, and watch as God molds and shapes me into a better person. I will try each day to have steady footing on the path he has provided for me.
