The Daily Breadcrumb

”The Bible is meant to be bread for daily use, not cake for special occasions.”

It Ran in My Family until it ran into me.

Read that title again.

ROMANS 12:2- “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

—There are so many things in this world that can tempt to tame us, even the people around us that we keep close, even our families.

—Be the one that steps out of line and changes how the rest will live.

Be the one who moves, breaking the curse

—One simple act of changing from how you were raised to how you want your children to be raised, is braking a generational curse.

—I will always say that my family molded me and raised me into the person that I am today. A lot of times I will leave it at that. Because I try hard to not keep telling the story that broke me but instead start telling the story that rebuild me.

—But for this post I want to share a little more, with you. I always knew that I didn’t want to be anything like my family as I was growing up. I used to hate as a young adult when people of my past would recognize who I was by the looks I carried over from my mother. They are there, but I choose a lot to not thing about that fact, simply because I do not want people to associate that I look like her, Maybe I am just like her.

-EXODUS 23:19 – “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”

—I shared this scripture with you a few days ago, but I find it fitting here as well. This is because though I am my mother’s daughter, I am not my mother. The acts and personality of her did not apply to me, I am not molded by her to become her, I am molded by God to be a better person.

—There comes a point in our life’s, rather it be younger or when you find your own way in life, that you have to stop blaming your actions on the way you were raised and start taking the action in your life to become the person you want to be. Because as an adult its no longer your parents your fault, it’s yours.

—let that sink in, I don’t mean it harshly but in truth, we are called to grow, become our self’s, so as you grow and reach adult hood it is your responsibility to heal and work on yourself. No longer can you put the blame on your parents.

—Be the change, break the chains, break that generational curse.
