Emotions

“When the Bible says, ‘do not lean on your own understanding,’ the Bible is being serious. Your heart is deceitful, your emotions fluctuate, your understanding does not see the overall, big picture. God never lies, God never changes, God knows all. Trust Him.

— I was just having a conversation earlier today on how we can’t follow/trust our emotions. Our emotions are always changing, fleeting. Our conversation was about relationships, and how some days you just seem more lonely in that aspect of life and others you feel more settled in the decisions that led you to this point. That is emotions playing with your heart strings. Can you look at the past day or week and see how your emotions have fluctuated? Imagine you make a choose alone and regreat that choose the next day because you followed your emotions. They are fickle and can’t be trusted.

—instead trust in God, that He has a greater plan for you, follow Him and He will not lead you astray. Run towards where God is leading you and not where your emotions want you to go.
