”The Bible is meant to be bread for daily use, not cake for special occasions.”

The Battle between flesh and spirit

There are many things in this world that pulls s away from the word of God and towards more flesh focused wants and sins.

—PORN is artificial intimacy.

—ALCOHOL is artificial fun.

—JUNK FOOD is artificial nutrition.

—SOICAL MEDIA is artificial connection.

—ONLINE SHOPPING is artificial reward.

…don’t sacrifice the best parts of the human experience for artificial dopamine

I know this isn’t actually talking about flesh vs spirit but I think it can fit as well. Many things pull us away from a more Godly life. I personally don’t have social media, I have still held onto my TikTok, and Pinterest but those now days are more Godly focused. We spend so much time online, We hold a connection to the world in our hands every single day. And I feel that plays a large roll in our mental and emotional state. Always chasing approval and the next best thing. Who we aspire to look like, dress like. But that’s the issue those are all things of the flesh, things that should play as big of role in our life, if at all. Before walking away from social media, I started by taking day breaks, week breaks. Even though I still have TikTok it has a two hour daily limit set I found that I don’t doom scroll and use those two hours wisely. I have been experiencing life without post photos online, keeping up with people that aren’t truly a part of my life. Removing the drama in my life has been so rewarding. I find myself more focused on sharing God’s word now days and diving deeper into my understanding and trying to grow in his word each and every day.
